"Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name."

Growing up, my family had a Thanksgiving tradition. Just before the steaming gumbo, salad, macaroni and cheese, chicken, vegetables, sweet potatoes turkey, stuffing and assortment of desserts to choose from, we would find our seats and join hands. And right before the prayer my dad would inspire us and set the reason for the gathering before eating. As a family we clearly understood why we celebrated 'Thanksgiving'.
In fact my parents were wonderful at carrying this tradition into the year too with gratitude. This tradition along with others, our elders, would host holiday gatherings at various homes. The joy of gathering and fellowshiping is still amazing.
Beloved, may we express our gratefulness for the 'AWESOMENESS' of God, His love and His faithfulness. Psalmist shout His praise in saying God is Good! He is worthy of our praise, worship and gratitude. Our God is simply 'GOOD'!
